I thought it might be time to shift gears and post about some of my inspirations. Though yarn and landscape are two innately different beasts, one continues to inspire the other for me. I have collected these images and more (and have an unofficial loop going as to which will be my computer desktop next) over time and love the feelings they evoke. To give credit where it's due, the last picture was taken by a photography friend of mine, Scott Csoke, and the penultimate by a landscape artist, Mac McWilliams, who is an old friend of my mother's.

Hurry before they're gone! These super chunky, super bulky, fat knitted scarves are my new best friends. Pictured are the chosen favorites between my mother and me and the bright red has already sold! With a contrasting or similar, yet just a little off-colored stripe running down the length of the piece, the color combinations are endless. Also, serving as a potentially great man-scarf, as I gifted a gravelly, heathered grey one with a lime green stripe running its length to a guy friend just before he set off for facing tough Austrian winds. The second pictured is available here and feel free to drop me a line here to collaborate on a color combo all your own!

It is unanimously decided that everyone can use a cowl! Even though I am undeniably all about chunky neck pieces, this lighter pattern has it's benefits. It is just as comfortable for indoor wear as it is to cuddle against when facing a brisk city wind. Need I go on about the perks of little black accessories? There is no better way to greet Fall than with great pieces that you can't wait to flaunt!

Though it may look like it has totally won me over already in all-black apparel hunkering down indoors, making season is just beginning. Currently working on a commissioned black cowl for a girlfriend that is specifically not too baggy and more gently neck-hugging than around-the-neck-bunching like some that are found in stores or on Etsy, I totally enjoyed cranking this puppy out (and investing in an over-sized crochet hook for the cause!). Keep your eye out for official documentation tomorrow!
